Freedom Center Ministry Academy

Philosophy

The Goal – Freedom Center Ministry Academy (FCMA) has a single goal: We want to further God’s kingdom through investing in young men and women.

Acts 28:31 (NIV)

He proclaimed the kingdom of God and taught about the Lord Jesus Christ—with all boldness and without hindrance!

Proverbs 9:9 (NIV)

Instruct the wise and they will be wiser still; teach the righteous and they will add to their learning.

We don’t hand our students a menu and say, “Choose the things that sound good to you.” We hand our students a map built on the experiences of pastors and leaders at Freedom Center Church. The principles learned from those pastors and leaders will help you develop a personal closeness to the Father, and through overflow you will change the lives of everyone you encounter.

James 1:12 (NIV)

Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.

Ministry is hard! There is no easy way to develop the perseverance needed to do ministry. That being said, this will be a tough year. You will be tested and tried in many aspects. You will have opportunity after opportunity to be developed in a safe and loving environment.

Year Breakdowns

Year 1 - Lead Yourself Well

Year one is a twelve month commitment that is developed to establish the character that is needed to sustain the gifts and talents in every student that comes through FCMA. The students will learn to lead themselves well according to the life Christ has called us to live and to live in reckless abandonment to Him. The goal is to die to the desires of the flesh and lay down all we have learned from the culture we live in, so that we can fully be alive in Christ. During year one, you will be attending Northpoint Bible college one day a week. At Northpoint, you will be studying the Bible at a college level while gaining 12 credits from Northpoint as well as gaining the opportunity to apply for credentials from the Assembly of God.

During year one, you will be studying and memorizing 520 verses from God’s Word, and there will be a test every Monday on ten verses that you have memorized. Year one’s schedule is full of times of filling up which consist of going to the gym, study time, prayer time. The pouring out consists of investing in different ministries and our surrounding community every afternoon.

In the last 3 months of your first year, you will get a focus day to invest into the ministry of your choosing.

Year 2 - Lead Others Well

Year two is a six month commitment that will allow the student to begin to learn to lead others in following Christ. They will also be learning to lead the first year students in time management, fundraising, ministry opportunities, scheduling, prayer, and helping first year students develop the attitude of Christ. They will also continue to have a focus day in a ministry of their choosing.

Year 3 - Honor Program

Year three is an Honor Program, and the only way to do a third year of FCMA is to be invited by another ministry at Freedom Center Church. A third year student would be working hand in hand with the leader of the ministry they are with. The goal of a third year student is to learn as much as they can with hands on experience while still under the covering of another, and utilizing the network of resources established by that leader and Freedom Center Church staff.
