Too many times I have let fear in to control my life and I had become someone I didn’t like. I would make the situation, bigger than what it was and it would make my life harder because I would stress about it and let It rule me through fear. In 2 Timothy 1:7 which says “For God did not give me a spirit of fear, but of power love and sound mind." Paul wrote this to Timothy at a time that he most needed it. We should take second Timothy 1:7 to heart, because I let too many things in my way hindering me from growing in Christ Jesus. God does not want us to suffer, He wants us to trust that He knows all the right answers and that we can just rely on Him and everything that He does. Because we should not let fear control our mindset, the devil uses that to break us. He uses it in ways that will make you scared and discouraged. There was a time where I let fear control me, until I learned to put God at the center of my problem or my fear and just have Him to wash it away. Because He is bigger than any depression and anxiety, any physical ailment that you face. Any situation you face God is bigger than that.
I had a situation happen to me where I would fear control my every action. To the point where I was so stressed out that I didn’t know what else to do and I had tunnel vision the whole time. What I didn’t see was that the devil is working overtime to make sure that I didn’t have courage, I was supposed to have fear. But I know one thing God gave me the ability to be able to fight fear and beat it and I did. That fear was the thought of possibly losing my eye. I didn’t know what to do, I was discouraged, sad, and lonely. When I heard the voice of God tell me give this to me and watch me work. Through the rest of this four year ordeal that it ended up turning into.
I did a lot of things that helped me break the cycle of fear. That was praying and seeking God every day and growing in spirit and in truth. Through this God showed me what it means to have no fear. I mean there are times where I slip up, but that’s what makes us human and how we respond to those situations will dictate to us how that day or year is going to be because you let fear control you. But if you turn over to Christ, and explain that you don’t want a spirit of fear but of power love and a sound mind, God will show you how to manage fear. Don’t let it beat you and don’t let the devil use this as a tool in your life against you. You have amazing potential. Through everything you do, be confident in the things that you’re going to do. Because if you have confidence instead of fear then you are going to go far.
