Who are you?

Has anyone ever asked you the question

‘Why are you like this?’

I know I have been asked.

It's not a very nice question, just listen to it, come on it sounds like you are complaining about who they are. (Which GOD is your identity)

Your mom walks in your messy room, or your dad sees you fighting with your siblings, and let’s be real we have asked ourselves this too, ‘Why am I like this?’ I want to be free from this sin habit but no matter how much I try I just can’t 'break free’ and so on.

All of us struggle with identity and a lot, if not all the time we get our identity out of the wrong places. Friendship’s, relationships, our success, the way people see us; all are good but whatever it is, it won’t satisfy.

Only GOD.

For we are GOD’S handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which GOD prepared in advance for us to do.

EPHESIANS 2:10

I’ve only been in FCA for a month and a half and I already learned so much about myself.

Now why is that important?

Because that is GOD’s focus, don’t believe me? Take a look at this.

1 SAMUEL 16:7

But the LORD said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The LORD does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at THE HEART.”

If the HEART is GOD’s focus it should be ours.

PSALMS 139:23

Search me, GOD, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts.

PSALMS 51:10

Create in me a pure heart, O GOD, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.

My challenge to you is this: ask GOD who you are
